My Narrative

I am Yonela and I was born in Eastern Cape in a small town called King Williams Town. Me and my family moved to Mpumalanga, Nelspruit in 2009. My home language is isiXhosa and I am fluent in English, isiZulu, Siswati. I'm an aunt of two of my nieces and nephews. I matriculated in 2017 and I was the school and hostel prefect. I used to play provincial cricket in grade 11 and 12. I also played first-team soccer and netball. I am a Monash student currently studying a Foundation program in Health Sciences later on planing to obtain a public health degree then major in Nutrition because it's a scarce skill in South Africa. I also joined girls soccer and gym to keep up a healthy lifestyle. I follow an eating plan where I cook and follow a healthy diet because I am what I eat and at the same time, I love cooking.
I believe in Jesus's doctrine and read the bible every time. I enjoy reading motivational books and I am looking forward to purchase Meeting your Power by DJ Zinhle. I like watching documentaries about the political affairs of the world and the interesting realities of other people. During my spare time, I challenge myself into knowing things about other people, sharing our ideas, interests and thoughts because I have the intention of learning something new from the people I meet. My family and friends describe me as a kind, caring person and always curious about everything.
For my community task, I and my group raised about R3200 for groceries that went to our fellow peers, IIE MSA Students. I also volunteered at Ethembeni as part of my 3-hour community engagement work where I helped packing clothes donated by people. later on in October, I will do another type of volunteer work which is called Christmas For Kids where I will be part of creating fun activities for kids who are from orphanages.
